Teenagers

So, how many of you have teenagers that “notice” on their own that the trash needs to go out or the bathroom sink needs to be cleaned? Do they magically do it without being asked, or do you have to point out the need to them? This is a constant sticking point between K and I; one of us is not being realistic, and I am curious how things work in your homes?? I’m of the opinion that kids (of any age) don’t reach that level of maturity until they have their own places, and take full ownership for the place in which they live... Am I crazy?

Thanks for humoring me while I vent! :o)

As always, thanks for stopping by! Happy Stampin'!

I stepped away from doing the kids' bathroom, waiting to see how bad it would get before they would be motivated to clean it on their own. How bad? Pretty darn bad! Occasionally my husband will force them to clean it, but I just don't go in there. I'm happier if I don't.

oh, I don't think kids notice any of that stuff - my son never did and actually he still doesn't when he comes to visit - he's 27 now and lives on his own.

Hahahaha Each of my kids is different and I love them all despite the little power struggles they experience while on their path to 'maturity'. My son will do whatever you ask- but only when you ask......, one DD does things without asking, the other is really anal and follows a very strict schedule, so it really throws her off if you ask her to do something- you have to sk in advance so it is on her agenda (LOL-not sure what side of the family that comes from......).....!!!
